Munich, July 24 – The Munich Transport Company (MVG) has unveiled a new audio guide to commemorate 150 years of the tram in Munich. This innovative guide allows tram enthusiasts, Munich lovers, and history buffs to delve into fascinating and informative details about the city’s tram system, whether from the comfort of their homes or while exploring the tram routes live.
MVG Audio Guide: A Journey Through Time
The audio guide, titled “MVG Munich Tram Stories,” offers historical anecdotes and background information about the tram, enriching the experience for users. What makes this project particularly special is that the content was conceived and narrated by MVG’s own tram drivers. Michael was responsible for the concept and texts, while Andrea and Holger lent their voices to the 13 listening stations in a sound studio.
Experience Munich Anew with the Tram
The “MVG Munich Tram Stories” app is available for free download on both the Apple Store and Google Play. Once downloaded, users can access the listening stations individually at any time or embark on an enjoyable historical audio tour through Munich’s tram network. With GPS activated, the audio contributions automatically start at the relevant tram stop, providing a seamless and immersive experience.
