Celebrities and Public Unite for a Cause

The donation center, a festively decorated conference room, was a hub of activity with phones ringing incessantly. Many well-known personalities, including musician Rolf Zuckowski, actress Saskia Fischer, and Hamburg’s Second Mayor Katharina Fegebank (Greens), have been long-time supporters of the NDR charity campaign. Others, such as HSV professional Robert Glatzel, participated for the first time, demonstrating a broad commitment to the cause. The theme of “Life without Addiction” resonated deeply with many callers, often touching on personal experiences.

Northern Germany Shows Solidarity

One donor, a listener who contributed 200 euros, is a recovering alcoholic herself. She expressed gratitude for the help she received and a desire to assist others. Many participants have personal connections to addiction, through family members or friends. Sofie Donges, Director of the NDR State Broadcasting Center in Hamburg, expressed her delight at the solidarity shown by the people of Hamburg and Northern Germany, extending her thanks to everyone who participated.
