Berlin-Mitte, May 27, 2026 – Residents of Berlin-Mitte can look forward to a new ALDI supermarket opening its doors on May 29, 2026, at 7:00 AM. Located at Gerichtstr. 2-3, the modern branch promises a diverse selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, and baked goods, designed to enhance the shopping experience for local customers.

Modern Design and Expanded Offerings

The new ALDI market has been designed according to ALDI Nord’s latest store concept, focusing on a bright and welcoming atmosphere. Joachim Wedel, Director Sales at ALDI Regionalgesellschaft Seefeld, responsible for Berlin, emphasized that “the focus of the new markets is primarily on a bright and friendly shopping atmosphere.”

The sales area has been expanded to 925 square meters from the previous 809 square meters, providing wider aisles and more space for a comfortable shopping experience. Upon entering the new store, customers will find a fresh selection of approximately 120 fruit and vegetable items, as well as ready-to-eat products from the convenience shelf.

Regional Collaboration and Extensive Product Range

The enlarged bakery section will offer around 40 products and features a back-stocked baking room, allowing employees to replenish shelves conveniently from the rear. Additionally, ALDI Nord has partnered with the regional baker Wahl for this branch, who will supplement ALDI’s approximately 30-item bakery assortment with regional specialties.

On average, ALDI Nord carries 1,860 products across 18 product categories in a single market, complemented by promotional items that change up to three times a week. ALDI’s private labels are central to its offering, accounting for approximately 87 percent of the entire product range.

The modern markets are uniformly structured to support the brand identity. The discounter prioritizes simplicity, making shopping particularly easy for customers. An outer aisle guides customers past essential everyday products. Food and non-food items are clearly separated. ALDI Nord foregoes superfluous decorative elements, instead focusing on clearly visible promotions and notices on walls and shelves.

Sustainability and Accessibility

Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, the market is energetically up-to-date. The installed photovoltaic system increases the number of such installations to more than 800 on ALDI Nord roofs in Germany, according to Joachim Wedel. A heat recovery system from the refrigeration units can cool or heat the market space depending on the season. The new branch is equipped with energy-saving LED lighting. Overall, the building operates without fossil fuels.

For a relaxed shopping experience, 23 car parking spaces are available. Extra-wide parking spaces for people with physical disabilities and parent-child parking spaces facilitate entry and exit. A sufficient number of bicycle parking spaces are located in the immediate vicinity of the market.

The branch is also easily accessible by public transport: the S+U Gesundbrunnen Bhf. stop is only a few minutes’ walk away.

Grand Opening Promotions

On the opening day, customers can look forward to a raffle. Two shopping vouchers, each worth 100 euros, are up for grabs. All customers who shop at ALDI on that day can participate. As the number of prizes is limited, the raffle may conclude during the day. Bratwurst will also be provided for refreshments.
