Hamburg, June 12 – The Hamburg public prosecutor’s office has confirmed the reopening of investigations against a man from the Pforzheim region and two of his family members. This development is linked to the alleged kidnapping of the children of Hamburg restaurateur Christina Block. The “Badische Neueste Nachrichten” first reported on the renewed investigation.
New Evidence in Alleged Block Children Kidnapping Case
New information has surfaced concerning the alleged kidnapping of Christina Block’s two children. Block has been facing charges at the Hamburg Regional Court since July 2025. She is accused of hiring an Israeli security firm to abduct her children from her ex-husband’s residence in Denmark to Germany, following a custody dispute. The incident reportedly occurred around the turn of the year 2023/24. Block denies the allegations, and the trial has been ongoing since July 2025.
Pforzheim Family’s Role in the Block Case
Investigations against four individuals from the Pforzheim region were initially dropped last year. The family was suspected of providing shelter to the alleged kidnappers of the Block children and being involved in the purchase of a motorhome. At the time, it was stated that the Pforzheim family had no knowledge of the background to the crime.
Following the alleged kidnapping, Block’s then ten-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter were reportedly taken to her farm in the Enz district. From there, Christina Block claims to have brought her son and daughter to her home in Hamburg.
New Findings Lead to Reopened Investigations
According to a spokesperson for the public prosecutor’s office, new evidence has now emerged. This new information stems from a separate investigation involving other individuals allegedly involved in the events of New Year’s Eve in Denmark. Consequently, the investigation has been reopened against the man and two of his family members. The proceedings against a fourth individual remain closed.
This case highlights the complexities of international custody disputes and the legal ramifications for those allegedly involved in such incidents. The renewed investigation suggests that authorities are committed to thoroughly examining all aspects of the alleged kidnapping to ensure justice is served.
