2026 Ningbo City Image Exhibition Concludes Germany Tour in Berlin
Berlin, July 17, 2026 – The 2026 Ningbo City Image Exhibition successfully concluded its Germany tour in Berlin, marking the sixth and final stop of its international showcase. Held at the Sinema Transtopia Cinema, the event, themed “Harmony of Land and Sea, Fascination in Image,” aimed to build a new bridge for cultural exchange between Ningbo and Berlin through the power of visual arts.
The exhibition, which took place on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:34 AM, attracted approximately 100 guests, including filmmakers, curators, and academics from Germany. It comprised three main components: a screening of short films about Ningbo, a cultural salon following the film presentations, and a cultural exhibition dedicated to Ningbo.
Cultural Salon and Film Screenings Highlight Ningbo’s Charm
Seven carefully selected short films were presented during the event. These included four award-winning entries from previous editions of the 30° Ningbo Short Film Festival: Game Rule, A Silent Farewell, Bucket Ride, and Krama’s Diary. Additionally, three films directly related to Ningbo were showcased: In Ningbo, Enjoy, One Moment Ningbo, and Ningbo, Can’t Be Hidden. Collectively, these films painted a vivid picture of Ningbo’s unique character, illustrating how the city’s rich cultural heritage intertwines with its modern dynamism.
Following the screenings, a cultural salon titled “What Remains Beyond the Screen” was held. Led by curator Echo Xuedan Tang, the salon brought together German directors, photographers, and interdisciplinary artists for a lively exchange. The discussion focused on the intercultural creations of young artists and the role of visual media as a connecting element between different cultures. Participants unanimously agreed on the significant role film plays in international cultural exchange.
The accompanying exhibition on Ningbo’s culture also garnered considerable interest. Many guests expressed a desire to visit the city in the future and further expand academic and artistic exchanges with Ningbo.
Strengthening International Cultural Ties
As the final stop of this year’s international tour, the Germany presentation further strengthened cooperation between both sides in the fields of film, youth exchange, and cultural exchange. Ningbo expressed its continued commitment to developing its international communication and leveraging visual culture to intensify dialogue with the world. The goal is to provide people worldwide with better access to the city, inviting them to discover, learn about, and experience Ningbo.
The successful conclusion of the exhibition in Berlin underscores the growing importance of cultural diplomacy in fostering international understanding and collaboration. Ningbo’s initiative to present its unique identity through film and art has resonated positively with the German audience, paving the way for future partnerships and exchanges.
