Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Berlin-Friedrichsfelde: Pedestrian Dies, Two Seriously Injured
Berlin, June 21 – A severe traffic accident occurred late Saturday evening in Berlin-Friedrichsfelde, involving a motorcycle and two pedestrians. One of the pedestrians died at the scene, while an 85-year-old woman and the 19-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries, police reported.
According to initial police findings, the 19-year-old motorcyclist was traveling southbound on the left lane of Alt-Friedrichsfelde street. At an intersection, an 85-year-old female pedestrian and an older man were crossing the street. Investigations suggest that the pedestrian traffic light was red at the time of the incident. The motorcycle collided with both pedestrians, throwing the rider into the air.
Victim Died at the Scene, Others in Critical Condition
Despite immediate resuscitation efforts, the male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The 85-year-old woman was transported to a hospital with severe injuries, and her condition is reported to be life-threatening. The motorcyclist also suffered severe internal injuries and was admitted to a hospital.
The accident site on Alt-Friedrichsfelde street remained closed for more than four hours through the night into Sunday for accident reconstruction. This closure affected the night bus line N5, which had to be rerouted.
