Munich, September 5 – Police in Munich are actively searching for three men involved in an attempted armed robbery at a Fressnapf pet store in the Pasing district on Wednesday evening. The suspects, two of whom were armed with knives, fled the scene without any loot after being confronted by store employees. Authorities have released descriptions of the men, with particular emphasis on one suspect who has highly visible tattoos on his face, neck, and forearms.
Armed Trio Raids Fressnapf in Pasing
The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 4, at approximately 7:30 PM, when three unknown men entered the Fressnapf pet store located in the Bodenseestraße area. Two of the perpetrators were masked, while the third suspect brazenly showed his face, despite having distinctive tattoos. Two employees, a 23-year-old woman and her 55-year-old male colleague, initially sought refuge in an office at the back of the store, where they promptly alerted the police by calling the emergency number 110.
Employees Confront Robbers, Trio Flees
After making the emergency call, the two courageous employees returned to the sales floor. They discovered that the suspects had attempted to raid the cash register. Upon being confronted by the store staff, the men brandished their knives and threatened the employees. However, the confrontation ultimately led the trio to abandon their efforts. The three men subsequently fled the store on foot, heading in the direction of the Neuaubing S-Bahn station.
A swift police operation was launched immediately following the report, but the initial search for the suspects proved unsuccessful. The case has now been taken over by Criminal Investigation Department 21, which is leading the ongoing investigation.
Suspect Descriptions Released by Police
Munich police have issued detailed descriptions of the three perpetrators, urging the public to come forward with any relevant information:
- Suspect 1: Approximately 30 years old, with distinctive tattoos on his forearms, face, and neck. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black trousers, and a black baseball cap, and was carrying a black sports bag.
- Suspect 2: Was wearing dark trousers, a black T-shirt with white stripes, a grey long-sleeved shirt underneath, and purple disposable gloves (possibly a motorcycle glove on the left hand). He wore a beige baseball cap and was masked with a scarf and coloured sunglasses. He was also carrying a black sports bag.
- Suspect 3: Estimated to be between 40 and 45 years old, with salt-and-pepper hair. He was dressed in light-coloured trousers, a light-coloured long-sleeved shirt, and was carrying a dark bag. He also wore purple disposable gloves and was masked with a black disposable mask.

The Munich Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the Bodenseestraße area in Pasing during the specified time frame (Wednesday evening, September 4, around 7:30 PM) or has any information that could be related to this incident is urged to contact the Munich Police Headquarters, Criminal Investigation Department 21, by calling 089 / 2910-0, or by reaching out to any other police station.
