BERLIN, December 22, 2025 – The World Congress on Green Building is scheduled to convene in Berlin from June 9 to 11, 2026, and registration for this international industry gathering is now officially open. The event, organized by the German Federal Association for Building Greening (BuGG), is a key platform for professionals and stakeholders interested in the future of urban green infrastructure.

Global Experts to Converge in Berlin

Following the successful 2023 congress in Berlin, which attracted over 1,000 participants and approximately 60 specialist exhibitors, the 2026 edition aims to further advance discussions on critical topics. The three-day event will focus on a wide range of subjects, including roof, facade, and interior greening, as well as related themes such as urban climate, rainwater management, sustainability, and the city of the future. The first two days will feature a comprehensive program of expert lectures and panel discussions.

Distinguished speakers confirmed for the congress include Professor Mun Summ Wong (WOHA Architects, Singapore), Professor Werner Sobek (Werner Sobek AG, Germany), Dr. Patrick Blanc (Vertical Garden “Mur Végétal,” France), and Professor Manfred Köhler from Germany. A parallel trade exhibition will showcase the latest innovations and solutions in green building, with numerous companies already registered to participate. The third day of the congress will offer exclusive excursions to various greening projects across Berlin, providing practical insights and real-world examples.

Diverse Participation and Collaborative Support

The World Congress on Green Building is designed to facilitate a cross-disciplinary exchange of experiences among representatives from cities, architects, urban planners, stormwater management specialists, industrial and real estate professionals, manufacturers, researchers, associations, politicians, and other interested groups. BuGG organizes the congress with the strong backing of international and national partners, including the European Federation of Green Roof & Wall Associations (EFB).

Carsten Schneider, Germany’s Federal Minister for the Environment and patron of the World Congress, emphasized the importance of diverse green spaces: “Germany needs all forms of public and private green. This includes a piece of wilderness in the garden, parks and open spaces in the city, as well as green roofs and facades. They are all true multi-talents.”

Interested parties are invited to submit applications for scientific lectures and non-promotional scientific contributions to the poster exhibition. An international committee will review all submissions. Further information and registration details can be found at www.bugg-worldcongress2026.com.
