Berlin, May 17 – A six-year-old boy was hit by a car in the Grünau district of Berlin’s Treptow-Köpenick borough on Saturday. The child was subsequently taken to the hospital with a laceration to the head and back injuries, as reported by the police on Saturday afternoon.

According to initial police findings, an 85-year-old driver was traveling along Regattastraße in the direction of Schlierseestraße. Shortly after Lahmertstraße, the six-year-old boy reportedly entered the roadway from between parked cars.
Eyewitnesses stated that the child did not pay attention to the ongoing traffic. Despite the driver initiating emergency braking, the car struck the boy.
