Sexual Harassment in Munich Bars and Discos – Suspects Apprehended
Munich, January 11 – Over the weekend, police in Munich successfully apprehended individuals involved in multiple sexual harassment incidents in the city’s nightlife. Security staff at various establishments promptly alerted authorities, leading to the arrests and charges against the perpetrators.
First Incident: Maximiliansplatz Discotheque
The first incident occurred early Saturday morning, around 4:00 AM, at a discotheque on Maximiliansplatz. Security personnel contacted the police after a 22-year-old man reportedly hugged a 30-year-old woman against her will from behind and pressed himself against her. Additionally, he allegedly touched an 18-year-old woman’s hip and buttocks.
The security team detained the 22-year-old until police arrived. Officers then provisionally arrested the man and transported him to a nearby police station. He was charged with sexual harassment and released after all necessary procedures were completed.
Second Incident: Bar Near Frauenkirche
A similar incident took place on Sunday, around 00:50 AM, in a bar located near the Frauenkirche. In this case, a 47-year-old man inappropriately touched two 22-year-old women. Once again, the bar’s security staff intervened and contacted the police.
Upon the arrival of the police patrol, the 47-year-old man was provisionally arrested and taken to a local police station. He was also charged with sexual harassment and subsequently released after the completion of official procedures.

Munich police have praised the swift and effective actions of the security personnel at both establishments. Their immediate response and cooperation were instrumental in ensuring the quick apprehension of the suspects and preventing further incidents.
