Munich, December 25 – A 16-year-old male has died in a hotel near Munich due to a suspected drug overdose, according to a police press release issued on Thursday, December 18. Emergency services were alerted in the early hours of Tuesday. Three other individuals were also treated in the hospital.

Hotel Party Leads to Tragedy

According to police information, the teenagers, aged between 16 and 18, gathered for a party at a hotel in the Munich district on Monday. During the gathering, they reportedly consumed significant amounts of alcohol and other drugs. The exact number of attendees at the party remains unknown to the police. The revelers called the emergency police hotline at 5:45 AM after several hours at the hotel.

Upon arrival, officers found two 16-year-olds and an 18-year-old, all requiring medical attention. Police reported that one 16-year-old and the 18-year-old were successfully treated in a hospital. A 17-year-old, whose involvement became known later on Tuesday morning due to drug consumption at the gathering, was also successfully treated in a hospital.

Investigation into the Cause of Death

However, the second 16-year-old found at the scene could not be saved. Based on current information, the police assume that he died as a result of drug consumption at the party. Investigations into the exact cause of death are still ongoing. The specific substances consumed and how they were obtained are also not yet known. Police are currently investigating the case for possible violations of the Narcotics Act.

The incident highlights growing concerns about drug use among young people in the region. Recent reports from Augsburg, Bavaria, indicate an increase in drug-related incidents, including individuals driving e-scooters under the influence and a major raid targeting suspected cocaine dealers. Authorities are actively working to combat drug-related crime and raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse. Law enforcement officials continue to urge parents and guardians to educate young people about the risks associated with drug and alcohol consumption, especially in unsupervised settings.
