Timberland Unveils New Flagship Store in Berlin’s Unter den Linden
Berlin, April 8, 2026 – The American brand Timberland has significantly strengthened its presence in Berlin with the opening of a new flagship store at Unter den Linden 16. The relocation from its previous site in Friedrichstraße, which closed in mid-March, represents not only a change of address but also a conceptual reorientation of its retail presence.
Modern Retail Design for an Enhanced Brand Experience
Spanning approximately 141 square meters of retail space, the new store showcases a modern retail design focused on delivering an immersive brand experience. The open-plan ground floor facilitates a clear arrangement of footwear, apparel, and accessories, complemented by fitting rooms, storage, and work areas.
The store’s design seamlessly blends functionality with brand identity. Materials such as wood, leather, and concrete reflect Timberland’s outdoor heritage, translating it into an urban, contemporary aesthetic. The objective is to create an environment that appeals to both existing customers and new target groups.
Berlin: A Strategic Key City for Timberland EMEA
Benjamin Tetard, Timberland EMEA Head of Marketplace, commented on the opening: “Berlin plays a central role in our key-city strategy for the brand in the EMEA region. The city offers high cultural relevance and a strong connection to our target audience. The new store format emphasizes Timberland’s robust character and artisanal quality, while the larger space allows us to present the entire range of footwear and apparel. Together, these elements improve in-store navigation and elevate the overall customer experience to a new level, creating an authentic point of contact with the brand.”
VF Corporation Reports Positive Financial Performance
The parent company, VF Corporation, recently reported operational progress. In the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, ending December 27, 2025, revenue increased by one percent; adjusted for the divested Dickies brand, growth was four percent. Operating income rose to 289 million US dollars, or 341 million US dollars on an adjusted basis. This performance helped reduce debt and put the direct-to-consumer business back on a growth trajectory worldwide.
Within the brand portfolio, Timberland and The North Face showed particularly positive developments, with currency-adjusted increases of five and eight percent, respectively. Timberland operates in over 100 countries through its online store, proprietary stores, and selected retail partners.
Against this backdrop, the Berlin location gains additional significance. The choice of Unter den Linden underscores the capital’s role as a strategic key market in the EMEA region. With the new store, Timberland is advancing its strategy to utilize physical retail spaces more effectively as experience-oriented brand environments.
