TSV Munich von 1860 Spielbetriebs-GmbH Officially Registered

Munich, July 1st – A significant milestone for the future of TSV 1860 Munich has been achieved. As confirmed by the current commercial register of the Munich District Court, the TSV Munich von 1860 Spielbetriebs-GmbH was officially registered today, July 1st, 2026.

Legal Foundation Established

The new company was formed using the shell of the former Martin Investment GmbH, whose articles of association date back to 2001. In line with the strategic realignment approved by the general assembly, the company was fully transformed and adapted to its new purpose as of today.

Core Responsibilities of the New Company

The GmbH will now act as the sole license holder and will be responsible for professional football operations. Its central tasks include:

  • Match Operations: Organization and management of the first men’s team in national and international competitions.
  • Sports Infrastructure: Acquisition and utilization of player and transfer rights, as well as the employment of sports and administrative personnel.
  • Marketing: Conclusion of sponsorship, advertising, and media contracts, along with the management of merchandising activities.
  • Youth Development: Operation and financing of the youth performance center.

Experienced Leadership for Football Operations

The company, with a share capital of 76,000.00 Euros, is based at Grünwalder Str. 114, 81547 Munich. Thomas Probst has been appointed as the sole authorized managing director.

Probst is well-connected within the ‘Löwen’ (Lions) community and possesses in-depth knowledge of the club’s structures, gained through his long-standing involvement in the football department management, as a supervisory board member of the KGaA, and as a founding member of “Unternehmer für Sechzig” (Entrepreneurs for Sixty). The 58-year-old also brings extensive professional expertise: after a banking career in corporate finance and investment financing, he was instrumental in mergers & acquisitions and financing strategies as a founding partner at ADCURAM. Over a decade ago, he moved to its supervisory board, where he serves as chairman. This combination of profound 1860 knowledge and many years of experience in financial economics ideally qualifies him for the operational management of the new Spielbetriebs-GmbH.

With this registration, the new structure is now legally fully functional and ready to tackle the upcoming sporting and economic challenges for TSV 1860 Munich.

The club also announced the separation from the coaching staff of last season, including Markus Kauczinski, Markus Brzenska, Nico Masetzky, and Philipp Kunz. Alper Kayabunar will continue to lead the Lions’ training.
