Hamburg, December 22 – The Fischbek district in Hamburg experienced a night of multiple serious incidents, with two separate accidents requiring police and rescue services. A BMW driver lost control and crashed into a tree, followed hours later by a collision involving a woman attempting a U-turn.

BMW Crashes into Tree in Fischbeker Heuweg

On Sunday evening, around 11:00 PM, a 23-year-old male driver of a BMW was traveling on Fischbeker Heuweg when he lost control of his vehicle. The car veered off the road to the left, crossed the sidewalk, and collided with a large tree. The driver sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital by ambulance.

Police are currently investigating the speed at which the driver was traveling, as the speed limit in the area is 30 km/h. The vehicle was reportedly heading towards Cuxhavener Straße when the incident occurred.

U-Turn Attempt Leads to Collision on Cuxhavener Straße

Approximately six and a half hours later, at around 5:25 AM, a second serious accident occurred not far from the first site. A 32-year-old woman attempted a U-turn on Cuxhavener Straße (B73) and reportedly failed to notice an oncoming vehicle from behind. The driver of the approaching car attempted to swerve into the opposite lane to avoid a collision but was unsuccessful.

The woman who caused the accident was injured in the crash and also required ambulance transport to a hospital. Cuxhavener Straße was temporarily closed following the incident, though the early morning hour prevented significant traffic congestion.

Police Investigations Underway

Authorities are investigating both accidents to determine their exact causes. The focus for the BMW crash is on the driver’s speed, while the U-turn collision will likely examine the circumstances surrounding the maneuver and visibility.

These incidents highlight a busy night for emergency services in Hamburg’s southern districts, following other recent events including a fire in Hamburg-Hausbruch and a pedestrian being hit by a car in Harburg.
