Suspect Remanded in Custody After Attempted Homicide in Munich
Munich, May 4, 2026 – A 38-year-old man has been remanded in custody following an attempted homicide in Munich. A judge ordered the suspect’s detention after he allegedly inflicted life-threatening injuries on a 43-year-old man with a ‘sharp force’ during an altercation, police reported.
Victim Discovered with Multiple Wounds
Witnesses discovered the injured man on the night of May 1 at a street intersection in the state capital. He had sustained several wounds and was transported to a hospital by paramedics. Authorities have since confirmed that the victim is no longer in life-threatening condition.
Suspect Surrenders to Police
The 38-year-old suspect surrendered to a police station on Saturday, May 2. Officers provisionally arrested him. Prior to his surrender, police had evaluated surveillance camera footage and publicly sought the man with photographs. It is currently unknown whether the public manhunt prompted the suspect to turn himself in.
Homicide Unit Takes Over Investigation
