Denza Opens First German Showroom in Hamburg, Plans Major Expansion
Hamburg, June 8, 2026 – Denza, the premium brand under the BYD Group, has officially commenced its sales operations in Germany with the inauguration of its first dedicated showroom in Hamburg. The 280-square-meter facility, strategically located at Großen Burstah, near Hamburg’s Town Hall, will serve as a central hub for prospective customers to explore Denza’s offerings in the German market.
The showroom currently features the highly anticipated Grand Tourer “Denza Z9GT,” boasting an impressive 1,156 horsepower, and the luxurious “Denza D9” van. Test drives for the Z9GT are also available, providing an immediate opportunity for customers to experience the brand’s performance and design firsthand.
Hamburg: The Gateway to the German Market
The choice of Hamburg as the location for Denza’s inaugural German store underscores its significance as a key market entry point. Guests and business partners gathered at the opening ceremony to discuss the brand’s future strategies and ambitions within Germany.
Lars Bialkowski, BYD Country Manager in Germany, emphasized the importance of this milestone: “Following the recent successes of the BYD brand, a new chapter is now beginning. With DENZA we will once again demonstrate in impressive fashion that the BYD Group is more than a car manufacturer – it is a globally leading technology company.”
Ambitious Expansion Plans Across Germany
Denza has outlined an aggressive expansion strategy for the German market. The company plans to open additional boutique locations in the city centers of Cologne and Frankfurt in the coming days. Simultaneously, Denza is actively engaging in discussions with potential retail partners to further broaden its reach.
The BYD Group aims to establish approximately 40 distribution locations and at least 80 service locations for Denza across Germany by the end of 2026. This extensive network is designed to ensure comprehensive sales and after-sales support for its growing customer base.
Growing Product Portfolio and Brand Heritage
Denza’s product portfolio is set to expand significantly, with plans to introduce a total of eight models by the end of 2027. This will include vehicles from various segments, such as sports cars and sport utility vehicles, catering to a diverse range of consumer preferences.
The brand’s roots trace back to 2010, when it was established as a joint venture between BYD and Daimler. The first jointly developed vehicle was launched in 2014. BYD now holds full ownership of Denza, and its introduction into the European market is a significant step in its global strategy.
Future Outlook and Market Impact
The opening of the Hamburg store represents a crucial initial step in Denza’s efforts to build a robust distribution network in Germany. The brand’s ability to achieve its ambitious expansion targets-40 sales locations and at least 80 service locations by the end of 2026-and successfully establish itself in the competitive premium segment will be closely watched in the coming years.
This move highlights the increasing presence of Chinese automotive manufacturers in Europe and their commitment to electric mobility. Denza’s entry is expected to intensify competition within the premium EV market, offering consumers more choices and potentially accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles in Germany.
