Rosengarten Kulturgarten Opens its Gates – A New Meeting Point in Westpark

Munich’s newest destination for beer garden culture, community, and hospitality, the Rosengarten Kulturgarten, officially opens today, June 13, 2026. Located in the picturesque Westpark, this revamped traditional beer garden aims to be more than just a place for a drink; it’s envisioned as a vibrant hub for neighbors, families, culture enthusiasts, and all visitors to the park.

The new operating team, known for their work at the Munich cultural and event venue “Live Evil” in the old Gasteig, is behind this innovative concept. Their motto, “We want to rethink the beer garden,” emphasizes a modern approach that extends beyond the classic beer garden experience.

A Beer Garden with a Cultural Identity

The Rosengarten Kulturgarten seamlessly blends the relaxed atmosphere of a traditional Munich beer garden with a diverse cultural program. Visitors can look forward to live music, cultural events, public viewing, and seasonal gatherings. Operators Clara Schleifer, Maurice Löw, and Michael Zacharski are committed to creating an open space where people of all generations can connect and experience the Westpark in a new way.

The Concept at a Glance

Food & Drink

The bar, kiosk, and restaurant offer a wide array of options, from classic beer garden fare to an extensive vegan menu. Emphasis is placed on fresh, regional ingredients. Highlights include:

  • Obazda: €10.90
  • Roast Pork (Schweinsbraten): €17.90
  • Oyster Mushroom Schnitzel (vegan): €16.90
  • Vegan Apple Strudel in a Glass: €6.50
  • Dark Beer Tiramisu: €6.50

Music & Culture

The Rosengarten Kulturgarten will host free live concerts several times a week, showcasing a diverse cultural program. Moving beyond traditional Bavarian folk music, the venue will feature jazz, swing, singer-songwriters, and carefully curated concert formats, promising unique summer evenings in Westpark.

Community & Encounter

Designed as an open meeting point, the Kulturgarten welcomes neighbors, families, friends, and anyone seeking a convivial atmosphere. Nestled in one of Munich’s most beautiful green spaces, opposite the Japanese Garden, and with direct views of the Rosengarten and Westsee, it’s an ideal spot for spontaneous encounters and shared experiences.

Public Viewing and Special Events

The team is already planning communal experiences for the opening season. During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, selected matches will be broadcast live in the beer garden, offering fans a unique viewing experience.
