Berlin, July 21, 2026 – ITB Berlin, one of the world’s leading travel trade shows, is implementing a significant reorganization of its exhibition halls for the 2027 event (March 16-18). This strategic adjustment is a direct response to the ongoing modernization of the Berlin exhibition grounds, specifically the construction of the new congress and event center, dock9, on the site of the former Hall 9.
CityCube Berlin to Become Exhibition Space for ITB 2027
Exhibitors previously located in Halls 7.1c, 8.1, 9, and 10.1 will now be accommodated in the CityCube Berlin. This marks the first time the CityCube, primarily known as a congress and event venue, will be integrated as an exhibition area into ITB Berlin. The organizers anticipate that this change will lead to a clearer hall structure, shorter distances for visitors, and a stronger thematic clustering of related offerings.
“The adapted hall structure is more than just a reaction to the construction phase of dock9. It offers us the opportunity to align ITB Berlin even more closely with the needs of our international exhibitors and trade visitors and to make thematic focal points more visible,” explained Deborah Rothe, Director of ITB Berlin.
Enhanced Infrastructure and Accessibility at CityCube
The CityCube boasts its own entrances, a dedicated taxi drop-off area, and direct public transport links via the Messe Süd S-Bahn station. Its flexible infrastructure is expected to provide additional space, particularly for larger and more technically demanding exhibition stands. This integration into the new hall structure is also intended to facilitate the thematic grouping of exhibitors, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
The restructuring, according to ITB, exclusively affects specific exhibitor groups. The demolition of the former Hall 9 is scheduled to commence in October 2026 to make way for dock9. The final allocation of stand spaces for ITB Berlin 2027 is expected to be completed by autumn 2026.
