Hamburg, August 2 – A 35-year-old racing cyclist was seriously injured yesterday afternoon after colliding with a parked car on Zollenspieker Hauptdeich in Hamburg-Kirchwerder. The accident occurred around 3:20 PM. Emergency services, including a rescue helicopter, were deployed to the scene, and the road was completely closed.

Incident Details and Injuries

According to a police spokesperson, the cyclist’s injuries are not life-threatening. He was conscious and responsive following the impact but was transported to a hospital for further treatment. The parked car sustained minor damage from the collision.

The police spokesperson noted that similar accidents frequently occur at this particular location on Zollenspieker Hauptdeich. The circumstances leading to yesterday’s incident are currently under investigation.

Road Closure and Emergency Response

During the emergency operation, Zollenspieker Hauptdeich was completely closed to traffic. The road closure was lifted around 4:50 PM, and the operation concluded. The swift response of the police and rescue teams ensured immediate care for the injured cyclist.
